What
does the Rotorua Seventh-day Adventist School offer your child?
*
Our School offers a caring, family environment in which the
uniqueness of your child is valued and nurtured.
* Our teachers will introduce your child to a God who
loves them immeasurably and without condition.
* Our Educational aims will promote the potential and
development of your child in a balanced lifestyle:
Academically
Socially
Physically
Emotionally and
Spiritually
What
will my child learn?
A
wide variety of subjects are presented, in line with the NZ
National Curriculum Essential Learning Areas. All the essential
learning areas are integral to the School's Special Character.
It is expected that as they progress, the students will gain
an appreciation of Christian worship, and be enriched by the
values based Bible stories and life lessons that are
presented through each subject.
How
is my child expected to behave?
The
ultimate object of discipline is self control and with this
as our objective we have outlined our standards through five
short statements:
Our
schools behaviour management plan:
* Be in the right place at the right time
* We keep each other safe and happy
* We respect ourselves, others and property
* We listen and follow instructions promptly
* Encourage each other to do our best
>
Emphasis will be placed on positive correction and reinforcement.
However, consequences will follow if the children fail to
meet expectations
> Cards will be used to show how children are performing
> Caught-being-good cards will be used for
children who practice supporting fellow students
The
purpose of the above is to teach our students:
* Respect for God
* Respect for Others
* Respect for Self
* Respect for Property
The
staff of the school are reponsible for guiding the student's
behaviour in accordance with these above principles and will
naturally talk with the students, on a more specific level,
about day to day rules to be followed for the smooth running
of the school.

Our
School at present is staffed by a:
* Teaching Principal / Senior Teacher
* Junior Teacher/s
* Principal's release Teacher
* Teacher aide
* Reading support Tutor
* Part-time music Tutor (private lessons)
* Part-time secretary
* Cleaner
* Grounds person
These
staff members are responsible to the School's Board of Trustees.
Parental involvement is encouraged where needed and possible.
