On the 24th October 2003 the Feilding and District Art Society Inc (FADAS) opened. The main objective (project) is to establish our Community Art Centre and, maximise its utilisation by the community. Our focus is particularly on:

- The development of artists, through exhibitions and affiliation with other Artists, in which they may gain knowledge on how to establish, or further develop themselves in the Art field.

- Education, and enjoyment of the arts. We intend to run tutorials and workshops for adults and children. We will be actively approaching schools to encourage utilization of the Art Centre.

- The provision of information to artists, of funding available to them, and assistance in making applications.

The establishment of the Community Art Centre is a long-term project with many short-term projects falling under the umbrella of the Centres’ focus. We are looking for volunteers to man the sales gallery and generally help with the day-to-day running and coordination of this Centre.
