26th Feb, 2006 Update! *wow*
People, I must apologise for the lack of updates to this page
I have been totally slack!!
I cant promise any more updates in the future either. hahaha
Firstly, a little about me:
My name is Ken, I am from Christchurch, New Zealand. I lived in Hamilton and had many Imps while living there.
I am 31 years old, and love Imps to bits. I have had almost every type of Imp that there is in Nz.
I currently own a 1969 Sunbeam Imp. In Nz, this is a Twin Headlamp, full dash car, with Mk2 suspension.
This car is pretty rough in condition, and I will once again, exchange it for a better one in time.
At the moment, I am simply having fun with Imps. I am trying to build up a road legal race car, for use in car club events.
The car so far isn't anything special. It has been pretty much guttered inside. Jamex recline-able seats
have been fitted to Mack (yes, truck) seat runners. These are nice and shallow, so allow seat to sit low.
They have been mounted to cut down Mk2 seat bases. I have fitted a rather good, recovered dash top.
That's about it for the inside.
Engine is a standard 875 bottom end, with a Mk2 head which has had bigger valves fitted, ported and semi polished ports.
I am running Brian Bradshaw extractors, and soon to have a downdraft Webber fitted (one day quad throttle bodies maybe)
I have an R17 cam running off a multi hole sprocket.
Generator has been removed and replaced with a Lucas Alternator.
Rad will be mounted in the front at some stage, but in the mean time I am running a high flow electric fan.
Fuel is now through an electric pump and regulator.
Brakes, totally standard drums at the mo, but will be getting discs all round.
I have Inch drive shafts sitting in the shed ready to be fitted one day also.
Wheels are 13 inch allows with Low profiles on the front.
Standard Mk3 Gear box.

Things that are being done:

Seam welded suspension
Front radiator
Everything inside removed
Reclinable race seats (front, nothing in the back)
13 inch mags
Lowered
Electric water pump with temperature control

Plus probably lots more

Oh, and a BRIGHT yellow paint job when its all ready.

Ken
